Selective coloring

Baby and Me Blog train #2

It's time for the Baby and Me blog train to leave the station again !! It's a short train but I'm sure you'll find something that you'll like.

Our second Color Challenge was to create a minikit, or a layout with three papers, and three elements, using this palette created by Kaelira :










We all picked three colors to work with, and designed our own mini kits. Here we go !!!

BAM speed scrap

This weeks Bam (Baby and Me) speed scrap was hosted by Kasie. She gave out a direction

1. Go find your 1-2 photos.
2. Your background has to be WHITE. At least 2/3 of it does anyway. You may edge your paper or layer it so it's not completely white, or use a paper that is mostly white.
3. Choose one of these accent colors: pink red orange yellow green blue or purple. You may use this color and any other neutral color for your elements. Neutrals are brown, tan, cream/beige, black, gray, etc. I expect questions on this one. It was hard to explain.
4. Include a branch, leaf, vine, bark, tree trunk... a natural element.
5. Include a bug or animal somewhere in there. Paw prints and fur, animal spots and bug wings all count. Anything along those lines.
6. Journal. A lot. Down one side of the page.
7. Add some sparkles





I won this speed scrap, so I get to run the next one.

BAM week 24 challenge

It's hard to beleive that we've been doing this for 24 weeks already. Where does the time go ?
The challenge was to use at least 1 natural element. A REAL flower, Leaves, Branches, etc. Not silk flowers or leaves, but real from nature. I didn't know what I was going to do with this one, and I didn't even start working on it until Saturday morning, and it had to be submitted by Sunday. So I started looking throught my pictures and I found these two that I thought were just adoreable.

Baby faces

This is for Mel's Sugar Babies challange at Digital Candy. I am really pleased with this layout, because this is my first extration, and I think it turned out really well :D . I was Rak'd (random acts of kindness ) by Christie Lemmon, and I got her Mud Puddles kit. I opened up the files, and found lots of things that I knew I would be able to use. So being the totally addicted digi scrapper that I am I pulled out a few papers, and this is what I came up with .....

Copy cat challange at Digital Candy

BAM speed scrap

Bam had another speed scrap last night, and these are the rules we were given
1. Use an even number of photos, all photos need to be in color
.2. Use at least 5 pieces of paper, at least one must be a square.
3. Use at least 2 frames.
4. Use a fastening element.
5. Add a ribbon.
6. Add something white.
7. Use at least one font and one alpha in your title. Journal! And you're done

Week 4 Candy Jar Challange

I have been a member at Digital Candy since the begining of March, and I love their challanges. Here's my latest entry in JulieMarie's Candy Jar Challange ~







This layout was a challange for me because we had to use everything from the kit somewhere on our layout. The kit is awesome, but it has a lot of pink in it, and as a mom of boys, I never scrap with pink. I had to figure out a way to use the pink papers, and elements without making the page look too feminine. The glitter wasn't part of the kit, but I like how it frames the picture. I think it makes it more suited for a boy page to.

BAM speed scrap

If your looking for the BAM blog train it's a few posts down ;) .

This layout is from last night's speed scrap over at Bam. Kimi was the host and this is what she had us do,

1. Choose three photos. Crop them so they are exactly the same size and shape (or as close as you can). You may use different pieces of the same photo if you wish (close-up on face, zoomed out view, etc, I'll count them as separate photos). You may rotate the shape. Be creative!
2. Choose exactly three papers, no more no less. One must have a visible print of some sort. One must be plain-textured. One must be either worn, folded, torn, or messed up in some way. You may use them as many times as you like, in any way you like.
3. Find an element that in some way mimics the shapes of your photos, and layer it behind each one. It can be as large or small as you like, and only needs to be visible enough that you can tell it's a similar shape. You may use your papers for this piece if you need to, but try to find premade elements. You MAY use 2-3 different colors of the same element.
4. Add exactly three ribbons, strings, or ricrac strands (long straight or curly ones, no bows unless they're part of a bigger piece).
5. Pick exactly three more elements and use them any way you like, as many times as you like.
6. Add a THREE WORD title, using at least two different fonts. You may use alphas, as long as they are different.
7. Journal and/or date if you wish, and three cheers, you're done!
This was a challanging layout, but I had fun searching for everything that was required. Here's what I came up with,

I had fun with these papers, and they make me think "spring" when I look at them. I hope you enjoy them !

I did this layout for the first recipe challange at BAM. We were given this "recipe" ,
1. Photo (as many as you want.)
2. Frame your photo, but don't use a frame
3. A Shape, any shape

5. Doodles
6. 1 background paper

This was a fun picture to scrap, and since I very rarely get a chance to use pink paper, I used this as my chance .

Baby and Me Blog train #1

The Baby and Me blog train is ready !! We were given a color palate and had to either make a page or a kit with three colors from the palate. We all came up with our own theme, and all of them are unique so hopefully you will find something that you like !

My mini kit is called "Spring is in the air." It has 2 plain papers, and one textured. A butterfly, sun, and tree elements. I hope you like it!
